LG C900 Windows Phone 7 Smartphone Images

They say when it rains, it pours. And today seems to be the day for nice (and relatively clear) in-the-wild style images of Windows Phone 7 smartphones. Just a few moments ago we were treated with a few images of the Samsung i917 Cetus and now we have the LG C900.
Looking at these images we can of course see the Windows Phone splash screen, and we can also see the soft keys for back and search. But also noticed was a rather nice (and centered) shiny sliver Windows button on the bottom. And that one is a physical button as opposed to the other soft touch keys.

Sony Ericsson LiveView: A 1.3″ Mini-Display For Android 2.x Smartphones

Sony Ericsson has announced a new accessory device for Android this morning. The little gadget is called the LiveView and it features a 1.3 inch display and acts kind of like a remote and also as a secondary display for your Android smartphone.

So first, the features. The Sony Ericsson has a 1.3 inch OLED display with a 128 x 128 pixel resolution, works over Bluetooth (with an approximate 10m range) and measures in at 3.5 x 3.5 x 1.1 cm. As for the battery life, that is said to be up to 4 days for a “typical consumer.” Otherwise, the LiveView ships with a clip, wristband and microUSB cord for charging.

Basically, the LiveView pairs with your smartphone and is said to work with the Xperia X10, X10 mini, X10 mini pro and “most other brands on Android 2.0 and above.”

Previously, we had only seen the fabled HTC Lexikon in leaked and blurry CGI renders. Now, it’s actually been seen in reality. Pictured below are the shots that were sent into blog BGR. They were provided by a tipster and show the phone that has been previously called the HTC Lexikon/Lexicon. But, BGR just calls it the “HTC handset destined for Verizon Wireless.”

We’ve seen an explosion of Windows Phone 7 handsets lately and the whole buzz around these upcoming smartphones isn’t going to die down anytime soon. The first WP7 devices will be unveiled at some point in October in Europe and in November in the USA, so until then the main WP7 phone builders will try to convince the crowds to choose their creation instead of the competition’s.

LG Snapdragon Android smartphone coming Q2 2010

LG have announced that they will be offering a Snapdragon-based Android smartphone in Q2 2010.  The device – which will initially be available in the Korean market – has not yet been named, and LG are keeping full specifications close to their chest, but according to the company’s VP of electronics, it will be a “more mature” device than the LG GW620 Eve which went on sale in Canada this week.

During the Mobile World Congress 2010 in Barcelona we also visited the Acer Mobile booth. During this event, Acer introduced 5 new affordable Smartphones, including the Acer beTouch E400. The Acer E400 beTouch is a smartphone that runs on the popular Google Android OS. According to Cristina Saita, Acer’s Int. Public Relations representative, the beTouch E400 runs on Android 2.1 and the new Acer smartphone is equipped with a 600Mhz lcomm processor. What’s immediately noticeable is the large format display with which the Acer beTouch mobile phone is equipped. A 3.2-inch touch screen is the largest format, but it is still easy to use.

Acer X960 is a great phone, size,weight, display all excellent. Runs Tom Tom in portrait or Landscape, Skype 3 and Opera 4, all of which wouldn’t run properly on my last smartphone. It also has good call quality and copes very well in the poor reception in my office – best phone I have had for this.

The latest bada-powered smartphone has been unveiled, the Samsung Wave 723, combining a 3.2-inch touchscreen with an application-centric interface. The Samsung Wave 723 has been designed to provide easy access to both downloadable applications (through Samsung Apps Store) as well as an integrated social networking experience.

Courtesy of bada OS, the Samsung Wave 723 offers Samsung’s Social Hub feature that helps users stay organized while staying connected with friends and family. As part of this feature, users can for instance select 10 favorite friends to follow closely through a Buddies Now widget.

The Samsung Wave 723 supports Wi-Fi Wireless-N and Bluetooth 3.0 connectivity, and sports a 5-megapixel camera with LED flash and dedicated camera button.

The Samsung Wave 723 is only 11.8mm thick and has a metallic chassis and back cover to give it a boost in the style department. Additionally, its new leather flip cover offers protection to the touchscreen as well as giving it an enhanced look.

Dell Lightning, Thunder and Flash Smartphones

Engadget has posted leaked documents of three upcoming high-end smartphones by Dell, including the Dell Thunder powered by Android 2.1, Dell Flash powered by Android Froyo and the Dell Lightning powered by Windows Phone 7. The Thunder and Lightning are also powered by 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processors, and will offer 7.2Mbps / 5.76Mbps HSPA connectivity. Furthermore, the Thunder and Lightning will sport 4.1-inch WVGA OLED touchscreens manufactured by Samsung. The Dell Flash will sport a 800 MHz Qualcomm processor, and will offer 14.4 Mbps / 5.76 Mbps HSPA connectivity.
